It must achieve all of the following at once: sealing effectively against highly corrosive electrolyte acid mist, withstanding the severe thermal cycles and vibration in the engine bay, providing isolation to ensure electrical safety, and bonding strongly to complex battery case materials like PP, ABS, or phenolic resin. 1.Long-Term Sealing to Eliminate Leak Risks

 

The corrosive acid mist generated during battery operation is the primary threat. Once cured, our adhesive forms a dense seal with extremely low permeability, effectively blocking acid mist from escaping through the micro-gaps between the metal terminal and plastic case. This fundamentally prevents terminal corrosion and self-discharge issues caused by “acid creep.”

The under-hood environment is exceptionally harsh—local temperatures can exceed 100°C in summer and drop to tens of degrees below zero in winter, coupled with constant engine vibration. 1.Sealing at the Terminal Base of Lead-Acid/AGM Batteries: 

 

This is the most essential and classic application. After the terminal is installed through the battery cover, adhesive is applied via dispensing or dam-type application around its base. This forms a core sealing barrier.

 

2.Insulating Protection and Fixation of Connectors: 

 

Applying adhesive to the bolted connection area on the upper part of the battery terminal secures cables and prevents corrosion of the metal connections by acid mist.

 

3.Supplementary Sealing for Battery Cover-to-Case Seams: 

 

Used to reinforce the joint between the battery cover and case, providing an additional layer of leak protection.
